Really good fishing spot for casuals. Good amount of bass of decent size, use to be a lot of sunfish/ blue gills but a lot were fished out before a catch and release sign was put up. Very weedy now in June but almost no weeds back in march. Use to be able to drive around the whole lake but a lot has been mudded up and less driveable (saw a car and a tow truck get stuck 2 days ago, both were able to get out). Now you just park in gravel and walk to where you want to fish.

Great little panfish/bass pond

I love heading here just to try out new setups (when it’s less scummy and weedy) and I usually manage to take a decent size bass whenever I do. I’ve had a lot of luck with top water frogs like the Booyah Poppin’ Pad Crashers recently. Tons of panfish and bass. Only downsides are sometimes the water will flood up onto the back side of the island, making it muddy for weeks afterwards; and later summer it becomes a scum pool with little spots of open water, only really suitable for the heaviest of punch rigs, weedless lures and rigs, and topwater lures like frogs.
