My goal for the day was to just get my kids on some fish, and that was accomplished on the first cast for both of them. They weren’t big, but they didn’t care. Right now a lot of small bluegill are lining the shore, so it was pretty easy fishing. It’s a smaller, tucked away lake that I only found with google maps. Nice trail surrounding the lake and adjacent pond with clearings to fish from and benches to sit on. I will definitely be going here again.
I’ve been going to Ottawa lake for about 8 years now and it has never disappointed. if you want to catch lots of fish here use worms I’ve caught bass small and big a northern and other fish on just worms so don’t use a huge lure they NEVER work and it’s also a great place for kids because there’s not one cast where u won’t get a fish. But try not to catch the turtles there’s lots and even a snapper. It can also be pretty loud because of the beach but it has amazing fishing.
