My favorite spot in the city

This is my favorite spot in the city, the water is clear and you can sight fish your fish, I target rio grande cichlids but you can catch bass, bluegill, mullet, yes I said mullet (use shrimp) gar and catfish. Sometimes during the year the city will open the gates at the end of the bayou that lets salt water and salt water fish from lake Pontchartrain. So you can catch redfish, speckled trout, drum and crabs. So you should give it a try, Good luck!

Good spot to bring kids

Sunset Point is a very good place to bring kids (7+) to get them on a nice catch. You can catch anything from largemouth bass to redfish to channel catfish to speckled trout. I prefer fishing off the longer pier since it's a bit deeper but even the shorter one has produced some nice catches for me
