Great little pond, great for smaller bass and sunfish, I haven’t caught anything else out of here. Is stocked from time to time with gills and crappie. If you’re looking for a small walk this is a good one, but if you have a bad back I’d be careful as the trail winds for a while.

I fish down at the kayak/boat launch. it's taken some time to master but we do really well with bass there now. I know there's also access by James day park and the nature center, and then west of the kayak launch as well but that's more the black river than it is French creek. sometimes the water is so unbelievably clear, the big bass don't bite as much when it is but you can get a good view of all the structure and terrain under the water, which makes it way easily when it is mucky. easy to get stuck or drug under a rock by rockbass, so it's a learning curve here and certain pockets you must steer clear of or you'll be re-rigging all day. I still give it 5 stars, because there's rarely anyone in this spot except us, and I've pulled some beautiful bass and tons of other species here. great for a small creek.
