Norris lake is one of the cleanest lakes in East Tennessee. Especially on the clinch River side. They don’t have a large business dumping bad things into it. Most debris is drift wood. Fly fishing is great below Norris dam / Clinch River. Great parks with full camping hookups. Free boat ramps.

This is a great little Place to fish for everyone! It’s been slow since they drained it and then filled it back up but that’s to be expected. No swimming allowed which is awesome so no interference with pedestrians. However the good dock is a bit old and needs to be redone. The other down side is if you don’t fish between February and May then you’ve wasted your time here. Anything after that you’ll get snagged horribly on trees planted at the bottom and grass or other peoples old lines and poles. Ive reeled in about 8 entire reel/rod combos. Rods and reels are lost here a lot including People who Magnet fish. But August -October is the second good wave once schools back in. Bank fishing is almost impossible due to the weeds and grass growth after May plus summer break with parties and general public. If you have an electric motored boat/vessel or a kayak/canoe then you can hit WAY more spots. Gas powered isn’t allowed. But if you Bank fish or Fish from the dock It’s confining and cramped during summer break season. During February - May is the best time for dock fishing. TWRA does stock this water with Trout I believe twice you would just have to look up Oneida City Park On the list in Scott County. They die come and check for licenses here including trout stamps so be prepared. As far as fish go you will catch Yellow Perch, CatFish, ALOT of BlueGill, green Sunfish, Warmouth, Redear Sunfish, Red breasted Sunfish, Small Mouth are questionable haven’t seen or heard of many being caught here but could be in here, and then of course the three that everyone fishes for the Rainbow Trout (Stocked) Crappie (white & black) and the Large mouth Bass. This place is Peaceful and filled with things to do. Including fishing with Blue Herrings and the Eagles that Nest Here sometimes. Great place to start your journey or continue it. Extremely family friendly and also great place for an individuals solace. Sunrise and sunsets are GORGEOUS here by the way👍🏼
