Was NOT expecting to catch this here!

My buddy and I hiked through the woods out to camp and go for bullhead at night at this spot, pretty easy walk. Ended up catching channel cats all night. Somebody must have stocked them in here a while ago because we only caught a few actual bullhead. Here is my biggest one. The rest were all tiny but it’s always cool to find something unexpected in the middle of nowhere! They could be holdovers from when the pond dried up a few years ago.

This spot is an amazing place. A beautiful lakeside hike took me to a clothing optional spot where the smallies were slamming my spinnerbaits like crazy. The slight drizzle and cloud coverage produced good results. I will be coming back for my trout and landlocked salmon!
