Best spot on the canal

Ok so while it may not be the “best spot” it’s a great place for beginners and vets alike. It’s a chill place with deep water access (pier) and the best part is when the stripers run u don’t really need anything. Best bait is a cut (or live if u can catch) mackerel drifter with the current from the current. Simple but effective. Also good are savage sandeel, al gags whip it fish, sebile stick shade, and the like. Parking right up and great spots from that area up and down. Scusset beach is also fire. Any questions send me a dm and I’ll try my best to help y’all out

absolutely great for onshore fishing

I go fishing at Centerville harbor whenever I can. I always do ONSHORE fishing, so I'm not so sure about the fish that are deeper. I use a basic uglystick pole with a fairly heavy weight. For bait, I use squid strips. This bait has caught me just about every type of fish in the harbor, so no artificial lures are needed. Go at high tide. if you are a good caster, you can get your bait far enough out to catch 7 or 8 different species of fish. While fishing here, I've caught Scup, Bluefish, sea robin, north Atlantic pufferfish, northern kingfishers, summer fluke/flounder. Though I haven't caught one, it is possible to catch strippers. I use a slow retrieve method while fishing. Yesterday, I went fishing in miserable conditions here. IN TWO HOURS, I CAUGHT 16 DIFFERENT FISH. Please try this beach if you want to fish onshore.
