I go fishing at Centerville harbor whenever I can. I always do ONSHORE fishing, so I'm not so sure about the fish that are deeper. I use a basic uglystick pole with a fairly heavy weight. For bait, I use squid strips. This bait has caught me just about every type of fish in the harbor, so no artificial lures are needed. Go at high tide. if you are a good caster, you can get your bait far enough out to catch 7 or 8 different species of fish. While fishing here, I've caught Scup, Bluefish, sea robin, north Atlantic pufferfish, northern kingfishers, summer fluke/flounder. Though I haven't caught one, it is possible to catch strippers. I use a slow retrieve method while fishing. Yesterday, I went fishing in miserable conditions here. IN TWO HOURS, I CAUGHT 16 DIFFERENT FISH. Please try this beach if you want to fish onshore.
Sassaquin is really awesome year round I start getting fish in like late March and stop getting bites in like early November. Wacky rigged plastic worms work good mostly the good colors are green and blue. Late spring and summer top water works good I like to use buzz-baits and they’re so fun. But yah all around this place is awesome.
