Punderson Lake

The fishing is alright there’s a lot of over vegetation though so it’s annoying to fish if your fishing off of the docks or land

The entire lake is surrounded by weeds and lilies so it’s hard to locate variations and places where fish could be stacked up.

I am sure this is a Great Lake for Bass fishing. There are many points to fish off of. It is a natural kettle lake with three areas to are 50+ foot deep. The algae bloom is out of control in this lake and visibility is about 1 foot. People were having luck with chatterbaits that use noise to attract the fish. Spinnerbaits, Texas rig black worms, weedless soft frogs, various crank baits and a good old bobber with a worm on a hook yielded nothing. We fished from 6 am to around 11. Watch the sides of the boat ramp one guy went off with his trailer and almost had a mess. You are going to need a boat or kayak to get to the good spots. I’d pass on this place until the algae bloom is gone. When that happens this will be great. So maybe fall. I’d pass on this place for now.

Apparently whoever stocks punderson has never heard of a grass carp before. Yes grass carp not common carp (which punderson already has). There’s so much algae you basically can’t fish it’s unbearable how much there is. The solution would literally be to throw some grass carp in there. Make sure they’re at least a foot and a half in length when you stock them so that they don’t get eaten by a big largemouth or blue cat and there’s your solution

Fishing is near impossible from the weeds so thick that frogs get covered in weeds. By far the most rude boat fishermen.
