Went fishing today and caught another small striper there. One is better than nothing. Caught it using a night crawler on a drop shot. Had three other bites. Just took the worm or left the rest. I think I was hooking the work wrong at the same time the worms seemed mushy and not to active. Tried for cat no luck. Keep in mind I'm no pro angler either. Lot of people there with fast boats and sea doos so there were a lit of wakes that made sitting in a small rental bist not to fun. At the same time I get it, it's a recreational lake. With that being said the environment there is great. Everyone was having a great time fishing, boating, skiing, swimming, and relaxing on the beaches all over the lake. Some people lack common courtesy but it is what it is. Staff is always cool especially all them rad people at the docks (Dave) his name could be mark. He could tell me his name 59 times and I won't remember until 60. Over all its cool. If you want to get a boat get there early and wait in line in your vehicle and take a nap in IL 550am. Boats go fast. Try it out

The wood is a great place to fish and camp, but it does get crowded. One thing I hate about this place is the trash that’s left everywhere. People leave Trash there like someone is going to go around and pick it up..the parts of the lake where you have to hike to fish, forget it, it’s worse than an alley in a bad neighborhood. If you are reading this, please pick up after yourself. Bring out what you bring in.

Get there early....otherwise the parking lots get full and you’ll find yourself making a 3 mile hike down a bike trail just to get to a bank. If you’re trying to get a rental at the marina that’s an extra 2 miles of hiking. No luck today using wacky worm, Texas rig worm, jig, swim bait, crank baits or anything. If you’re bank fishing beware it’s all covered in thick vegetation. Definitely saw a couple good 4+ pound bass swimming in shallow waters in the vegetation. Water clarity is clear until the wind picks up. Good luck! Oh and weekends it’s crowded with a lot of swimmers and boats.

Had a lot of fun here! Took all day but finally caught something. They were teasing us early in the morning with a few bites and a bunch of fish jumping around us. Finally caught one towards the end of the day. Overall a nice lake. Big, clean water(compared to my local puddlestone), cool little coves/spots to fish. Had a great time!
