Good fishing but....

It’s a good lake for bass and carp but unfortunately it’s super dirty it could use a good clean up

Brutally honest review

Alright so ima be real, this lake is really dirty, a lot of trash in and around the lake. At times the water seems super green. There are a lot of weeds so you can’t swim bottom baits unless they’re really weedless, nothing with exposed hooks. This pond/lake has really weird underwater terrain, since it’s man made. I say this because there are like these spots on that are like plateaus on edges of the lake, they are like half ovals and they have dirt and gravel on the top and they are edged by cement, but there is a sudden drop off on the plateaus. It can fray your line at times if you’re fishing bottom baits. So braid isn’t the best and can get frayed from rubbing the edges of the plateuas. Water visibility is a slight green tinge, but are also days you get about 4-9 feet of visibility. This is a good lake to solo, or go with a friend. This lake is not good for family times, and I mean that. I say that because there are a lot of homeless which could scare children, there’s no picnic areas just some benches but for sitting. There’s no grass to sit at. But this lake has some pretty good fishing I got to say. Really funny to micro fish her for small bass and bluegill, and green sunfish and hybrids! Really finicky at times though. There are a lot of big carp in there, huge ones. I’ve also seen large coi fish and big gold fish! There are some decent bass in here. There are a lot of weeds, so you can really use like deep diving crankbaits or baits with belly treble hooks. I see people fish a lot of weedless stuff like weightless or weighted Texas rugged senkos, spinner baits, top water frogs, Flukes, swimjigs, weedless swimbaits, and sometimes jerkbaits for suspended bass, just make sure the weeds don’t get caught on your bait, it’s a turn off for bass a lot of times. Good luck you guys, tight lines!

(No permit needed) Great for beginners / amateurs

Big park pond, slightly dirty and merky waters but I guess that comes from the fact that it’s no longer county owned therefor there’s no regulation and permit enforcement. Heard the bites are amazing in the early mornings

bass are becoming very active now big ones

It’s aight

If you’re sensitive and don’t like homeless people and a little trash don’t bother. Otherwise, it’s a good spot to fish in the early morning or late evening. The bass have been spawning in there for decades and picky about what they go after but the carp are relatively easy to catch. Do the lake a favor and catch and release. It’s a dirty lake so I don’t know why anyone would want to eat a fish out of it, much less a bass or carp. Only think I really dislike about it are the guys who are bait fishing with 8 poles in the water.
