First kelp bass I’ve caught put up a good fight for its size

(Horn Shark of the Bull Shark family) I think I’m starting to get the hang of this salt water fishing thing! Whenever I see people with fishing poles, I always (try) to ask them how their day fishing was. It definitely paid off last night when these two random strangers took us to their local ocean honey hole at 1am as we were leaving the bars in Huntington! Come watch the release on my Instagram! Not bad, can get crowded but overall less crowded than balboa pier

Nice and cold wear double layers when going at 3am this was my first time ever Fishing and lots of mackerel jump out wanting to be caught.

It’s a nice beautiful area but it gets packed and it’s super common to get your lines tangled with someone else. Everyone is squeezing into a spot

Pros and cons

the pier is always very busy unless it's a weekend then not so much. there's always someone that's gonna have a speaker or something that's making a lot of noise.but overall very good fishing spot
