This lake is one of my favorite lakes in michigan. We have caught largemouth, smallmouth, bowfin, pike, and muskie in this lake. if you want to catch largemouth fish along the shoreline with the boat launch. Use a rubber senko and cast out along the docks. If you want to catch pike, muskie, or bowfin fish by the root beer stand. It gets very deep right there and we always catch something there. I have had muskie follows on spinners and lots of other lures. I have not gone to this lake and not catch a fish.
Musky are plentiful here but that doesn’t mean that they are east to catch. They see lots of pressure almost year round, especially now that the oldest ones are approaching 45”+. If you are persistent, you will learn their patterns and start to see and get follows from LOTS of skittish fish with few biters. Make sure you are ready when one does bite, many times it will be near the beginning of your cast and will feel like a snag at first. Natural colors like brown, black, silver, green, & natural perch work best here; the water is clear. If you are fishing for them in a kayak be prepared to land them without going to shore and make sure you know how to handle them to keep them safe. Anything lighter than a heavy bass rod will make it difficult to get a good hook set, they can shake smaller trebles pretty easily.
