The Lake Carlton lakes (Turkey Ford and Lake Thomas) are behind a guard house in a private community. I’ve lived here 6 years and have been fishing here since I first arrived. Lots of species, and the lakes are very healthy. If you get through the gate, please be ethical fishermen/women and pick up trash. Take your trash, used lures and line with you. I’d like to continue fishing here and I don’t want to lose that privilege. I also STRONGLY advise you to release the fish you catch. Though the fishing is great, it used to be a lot better. These waters are still recovering from a massive hurricane Irma kill and there are also quite a few people who keep their catches around these lakes.

I and my dad during summer would go here every Monday and I was always very happy and excited to go here we would catch many keepers sanpper and some nice drum and jacks we would also see many snook this is a great fishing spot for anglers looking to catch fish
