SCR has become my home water over the past year. Initially I was extremely frustrated because the bass seem to be pickier than other waters, but a year of fishing here and I can say lots of amazing things happen here. It may not regularly produce numbers like other places, but it certainly has quality! There's a good number of certified fatties, and some monsters lurk here. Stick around and get a feel for it, if you have patience you will keep coming back.
Get there early then you’ll catch a nice size trout and when I mean early I mean when it opens and 7:00am but during the day you’ll mostly catch some bluegill and find a nice cove that has shade there will definitely be good size blue gill and maybe a bass or a trout. I went there and caught 3 bluegill sunfish and a medium size largemouth on a small fly fishing midge. They were smallish but it was fun feeling the fight! But now with the pandemic be sure to get there early cos they limit they limit the amount of cars with COVID. Tip if you wanna catch some nice 12+ inch trout use a small hook cos they are smart and then can see the hook so use a small one and for bait use power bait and do all that in the morning you’ll catch a 12+ inch trout. Right now they have stocked the lake with trout so it will be easier but don’t expect to catch a fish when you go there cos remember it’s a 3 mile long lake so you never know. Oh wait if you love catfish fishing then there are some catfish most likely flatheads I think but not entirely sure. And there are largemouths in there but hard to catch.
