This place is a lot of fun to catch small fish. All you need is a sabiki and bait it with shrimp or squid if you want and then reel in all the small fish you want! Piers don’t require you to have a fishing license because it’s a man made structure so anyone can fish here 👍🎣. You can go 5mph on the pier it’s self with your vehicle and reach the end where you can find a small parking lot. Free parking hours are from 8pm to 8am. Have fun!

I’ve been fishing here since I moved to morro bay. Always a good time with a beautiful view. I’ve caught smelt, rock cod, perch and some other things off of the pier. You Don’t need a license so that’s a bonus, and you Don’t need any special gear. Just some hooks and worms/squid. Fish off the ends of the pier or right at the entrance just past the handrails. Be prepared to be asked “catch anything?” at least 10 times though.
