Been fishing this place for 15 years and there always seems like there’s something to catch. Absolutely crush it in the evenings. I’ve fished on kayak with spinning rods and fly fished from the bank. Some evenings the top water action is unreal and dry flies are lethal. Most of the time I fish with night crawlers.
I moved to Oregon recently so I really miss this park! I used to fish here often, went last summer with my daughter and we had a blast. So many spots to bank fish from thanks the trails that go all around the reservoir. Electric telling motors are allowed so there were always bass boats in the water, great dock/boat launch area. Really clean place and more to offer than just fishing. During summer the swim lagoon is open, staffed with lifeguards and equipped with a floating jungle gym, an amazing outdoor restaurant next to it with a good beer and wine selection. There's kayak and paddle board/boats for rent and the whole park has miles of trails for hiking that link Howarth Park and Anadell State Park together with Spring Lake. There's also a crossfit exercise course on the trail path around the reservoir for fitness nuts. Howarth Park is more kid oriented with pony rides, a trout stocked pond (bass here to) with ducks to feed, a picnic/birthday party/playground and a really cool train tour. Anadell is more of a hiking/climbing area. Spring Lake is a medium between the two. You could stay here all day and not be able to do everything. Best place to go camping and have an amazing family vacation for a week with something for everyone to do and it's close to some of the best wine tasting tours in the country and eateries as well! I could keep going but I think you got the idea.
