Great place to catch a bunch of trout
The trout fishing here is usually pretty good so it’s great for kids/family, rookie fishermen, or even experienced fishermen who have been in a rut. Joes Flies 1/4 oz Super Elite Strikers work amazing(brown colors specifically), as well as powerbait(garlic and bright colors), and night crawlers. Hope this helps someone out.

It’s a decent lake for some good quick fishing but some people there have no respect for what you are doing

So overpressured it’s not even worth it
I’ve fished here since I could walk. Over those years more and more people come to the lake. It’s very very difficult to catch the pike or bass anymore. Stocked trout are just like anywhere else and you can catch them on a variety of powerbaits and salmon eggs.

Monument Lake
Monument Lake is an easily accessible lake for Colorado Springs residents. Unfortunately, it is heavily fished, and it always is crowded during summer months. It is a good family lake if that is what you are looking for

Lucky to have this lake
Clean and active lake. Good amount of species. Close to the city and easily accessable.

nice small public lake
today wasn't crowded. there are a lot more homes now that have been built around the lake. so it doesn't have that same get away feel like it used to. however the road and parking are good.
