Laguna Niguel Lake

born and raised on this lake. my first job as a 15 yr old in 1999 under rick Mendoza who had a 30 year lease. this was a great lake until the lease renewal and the state took it over back. now poachers take all the fish and hardly stocked. RIP R.M. Fisheries

Has some chunky bass but the lake is super pressured and the bass are finicky... been fishin there for a long time and it does not provide!

I remember the lake back in the day, yes at one time it was pretty legit. Trout stockings in the winter made bass fat and you could slay them on hudds. Now its a challenge to catch bass especially one over three pounds . I do well here . All of my pictures and post are from here in the last month or so. In that time Atleast 3 fish over 3 pounds and quite a few in the pound and a half range .Tough ? Yes but if your not a lack you should catch fish here.

If you know what the fish like, this is a great lake to practice. You can also land some huge fish of different species. The only way to keep the lake in great condition is by practicing proper techniques and conservation of all species. As long as you're having fun, the opportunities are endless. I bring my grill with me and sometimes to a "Catch, Clean, Cook". It makes it like a fun challenge for me to get better at catching fish to eat. Definitely recommend this lake for a good time.
