fished that area since I was 13 in 1996 first time I ever came upon the pecan orchard leading to it.. love it is home for me lots of memories there lots of fishfrys ...deer , turkey, squirrel huntin ,shucking pecans horseshoe tournaments and endless summer nights of troutlining..home to a pair of lifetime bald eagles I've watched for over 20yrs who nest close to Abbey bend bundance of beaver,.. river otters also wich are becoming rare & next nothing in population once very vital the brazos eco system ... Paragon falcons also retailed and yellowbellied hawks the serenading tune of whip-poor-wills not to mention the resilient kingfisher.. three species of hummingbirds ,red fox's more than I've ever seen at place .. porcupines also .. so many sandbass.. and home to 50 to 65 lbs yellowcats... alot has changed over time as things do... but the river is continuous life cycle ..I hold this place very cherishable and deep in the heart of this Texan..
