Fishing Water

Been fishing with ultra light rod, line, and micro lures the past few days. It’s been a blast! Nothing huge but with that tackle it’s a fight.

Decent morning bite on the crank. Got this aggressive little guy.

Super slow this morning. 2 bites in 2 hours. Missed one and got one.

Permitted year-round. The lake is stocked and bait is sold at the Lake O’Neill Recreation Office, Bldg 26080. California State License and Camp Pendleton Base permit is required, both available at Pacific Plaza Exchange.

Little carp from today on 4lb flurocarbon 

2 small carp today. Both caught on 4lb flurocarbon caralina rig using corn on an ultralight pole.

Little carp today. Only fished for about 10 minutes before picking this guy up on 4lb flurocarbon caralina rig 1/8 egg sinker on an ultralight trout rod. Only way to fish for carp. 

2 little carp out of o'neill in about an hour today

Super stoked today! Caught 5 today and After chasing a biggin I finally got him and best part my family was there to watch !!

I don’t have a scale but I’m gonna give this guy a 6-8 cause the mf was heavy

Wife and I went out for a relaxing fishing sesh this morning. I caught a decent sized bass and a few dinks on a jerk bait while she did her night crawler drop shot special and went and shattered her pb and beat mine with a 6lber 😭 😂 well done honey! Very proud of her 💪 😤 the head on that fish was mahussssive, I hope I can see it when it’s fattened up.

It’s okay if you know what your doing but if you just guessing good luck

Pretty much mid afternoon to late afternoon you won’t catch much, except for smaller bass that are near the bank. You will see a bunch during mornings and evenings jump out the water. Pretty murky water so get something that shines or is very bright. I’ve fished here for a few days straight this November 2021. Not much bites but got one decent sized largemouth bass. If you got any questions ask.

highly pressured but you can get lucky, most of my catches are with small soft plastics and micro lures from Walmart. 

Know what your doing 

Seen some absolute monsters pulled out of here… just never pulled any out myself. Unfortunately I’m just not that great of a fisherman. But if you know what your doing this is the place to be.
