Pretty good fishing

I like fishing at Hyrum a lot but only when the water is low. You can still catch em when it’s high but the low water gets you too some better drop offs and deep water. I’ve caught trout and bass using Rapala countdowns from the bank. Ice fishing is good too and perch and trout bite well. Most of my fish have come in about 30-40 ft of water with soft plastic jigs tipped with a waxworm. Overall good little body of water. Could have better access for fishing. The only parking that’s free that I know of is along the West shore. The beach area fee is a whopping $10 but there are bathrooms there. Good access for ice fishing.

You can camp right on the water; but the only problem with that is not enough people clean up after themselves and are going to ruin it for the rest of us! If you packed it in, pack it out!! This place is amazingly beautiful, plenty of places to find your own space and relax while fishing. Definitely one of my favorites.
