River fishing is challenging and takes patience, but the Olentangy has large stretches that are really nice for bank fishing, or kayak fishing. Smallmouth, Saugeye, Large Mouth and more. What I love about it is you can fish it in an area that is more woodsy or literally fish right by the Columbus skyline. It gives you the best of both worlds. There are plenty of bridges, reservoirs and other great places to hit up along it as well.
Just like the rest of Alum you will struggle here at first. But once you put some time into learning this area it will become very productive. All of the abandon road beds here have good saugeye and bass fishing year round and good Muskie fishing in the spring
