Good family fishing

Great place to take the whole family. Lots of different fish bait varies for season and weather. Bathrooms and easy parking. Fishing areas clearly marked and don’t forget to check below dam. You can use some boats but I believe there’s some restrictions. Been fishing here since I was kid coming up to annual conference riding a bike around pulling out bluegill to my hearts content. Gas station up the road and a great old tackle shop in Maggie valley for all bait and tackle needs, Fuzzy’s.

It is a solid place for nymph fishing, I have been trying different flies, but the ones that get the most action are rabbit hare nymphs and copper Jon’s. Pheasant tails work as well. In the summer it is a little bit crowded but in late fall it is relatively empty.
