From my point of view, this lake is actually really really good. The fishing is incredible, in the past 5 trips I’ve gone there, I’ve caught maybe 15 4-5 pound largemouth. I caught my Pb largemouth there as well, only problem I have is that majority of the piers are private. Down the trail you’ll find maybe 20 boats all shuffled together, and it’s private. No fishing except from the boat owners. I find that disturbing. Anyway, other than that, an amazing lake to boat on, swim in, and fish at.
This lake is perfect. Weeds, logs, tons of cover, and 100% accessible and public. I grew up at this lake and absolutely love this lake. I come here weekly to try and get lucky with the biggest fish reported (7.3 pound) Largemouth Bass or the (14 pound) northern pike that lurk in the lake. Bow fishing in this lake is also very convenient. There are a lot of BIG carp maybe 15 pounds, and including white suckers to bowfish. For starters, this lake is a great spot to start fishing. There are lots and lots of big fish here. I prefer topwater or jigs, or wacky worms. I guarantee 100% you’ll get a fish every time you go.
