From my point of view, this lake is actually really really good. The fishing is incredible, in the past 5 trips I’ve gone there, I’ve caught maybe 15 4-5 pound largemouth. I caught my Pb largemouth there as well, only problem I have is that majority of the piers are private. Down the trail you’ll find maybe 20 boats all shuffled together, and it’s private. No fishing except from the boat owners. I find that disturbing. Anyway, other than that, an amazing lake to boat on, swim in, and fish at.
Timing is key with this lake… My friends and I have caught tons of trout out of Cenaiko and I’ve seen some MONSTER trout too! Cenaiko Lake is easy to access with two docks on the south side of the lake. Before the ice comes, this lake is absolutely amazing for fly fishing and it’s usually a quiet spot. There is lots of opportunity to fish from shore too, but since the trout like to hang out on the deeper ends of the lake, it can be hard to cast to the trout with the right-sized lures. The fishing gets tough in the summer however, but the river is usually better when Cenaiko isn’t doing too hot.
