Great Spillway Fishing

I’m not a local, just stopped here for an hour right by the state park shelters. I was pleasantly surprised, I was fishing in the middle of the afternoon and I caught a flathead and a bluegill using worms. I would expect this is an even better spot at sunrise/sunset

Dream tailwater

A dream come true river, for this region in Kansas west his river has it all. A well regulated tailwater from Milford lake. I’ve been working my way through the river to learn it best and it has a lot to offer from riffles to deep pools, shallows, rocks to work. I just love this river. It’s worth the walk to explore to areas of it besides the hot spots.
