Not a lot of algae and spinner baits work in the middle of the pond Bc it’s not that deep, you can fish from the bottom but I don’t think there are many catfish. And around 2 years ago I let 50 of my pet goldfish in the water so they might have mutant goldfish in there somewhere
I’ve been fishing here for about a year now sometimes with my buddy or just by myself and I have to say, this is my favorite spot for freshwater fishing I’ve caught things like sucker, flathead and even drum. There are plenty of big carp 30+ pounder there are even buffalo but I have not been able to get on them. However, it may be hard to get there if you are not kayaking there because you would have to cut through peoples houses. I have to say I’ve only been fishing here for a year and this spot has some of the best freshwater fishing in Indiana I’ve ever been to. This spot probably is best for smallmouth overall but there are a ton more species to catch here. I’ve never been skunked here and there always seems to be at least something biting. Personally I have caught 7 species of fish here. This is my favorite spot to fish especially because there’s almost no one there bank fishing besides me and my buddy. It’s common for kayakers to pass through there though. Im lucky to know someone who lives right there by the river so I can access it anytime I want. The only real way you can get there without trespassing is on kayak or boat sadly. Here are some of my best catches from this location I know the Flathead was tiny but come on. It was a FLATHEAD I’ve never thought I would catch a Flathead in here.
