Awesome place to fish and it’s very clear. But.... if you don’t have a military ID and a base permit for fishing , you can be fined and you will be kicked out . So just be careful because security forces and base operations patrols the area and will ask you for this information. So just be military or a vet if you fish here . This is considered part of the military base . But I’ve caught gar, catfish , small mouths , large mouths, perch, blue gill and sun fish here

Amazing Newer Lake

Flanagan even though it’s a new lake and the bass are not monsters yet has become my go to lake. I have never fished a lake that allowed me to practice and use so many different fishing techniques. It offers offshore rock piles, great vegetation growth, plenty of timber, drop offs, shallow coves, and much more. Like I mentioned the bass are not monsters yet but all the ones I catch are very healthy. I have been fortunate to experience catching pike for the first time some as big as 30” already and 5lbs. The lake is catching and release still which is what I believe is allowing the fish population to thrive. I caught my first Nebraska master angler crappie 17” 2lbs haven’t seen any that big in any of the other lakes here locally. I highly recommend giving this lake a few casts especially for new anglers you will catch something and even advanced anglers there are some big fish lurking.
