I've lived in Osceola county my entire life, (47 years ) and have fished about every lake around here. For the past 7 years I have lived right on Lake Tohopekaliga and the fishing here is by far the best in Central Florida. It remains one of the top 50 lakes to Bass fish on the world!! If it's good enough for the FLW Tour and many other tournaments, then it must be awesome! The nick name is given to this lake because one minute it can be calm the next, 3 foot white caps. ( as a storm blows in ) You dont want to be stuck on this lake during a summer thunderstorm....that's for sure!!! But if you ever are just pull into Richardsons Fish Camp on the North end....buy a soda and chat with the owner ( until the storm passes...he is super cool and full of fishing info.and secrets!!!
Went fishing here almost everyday for a couple years, there’s more small fish then big ones but still a nice lake to fish. Me and my friends caught just about every type of fish in this lake except the grass carp which we almost caught several times but didn’t get lucky enough to keep them hooked. All catch and release.
