The opportunities on lake Ida are impressive. Clown Knifes up to 40”, hard fighting peacock bass and the occasional wiper and largie. Perhaps a snakehead too if you have special skills for those. I don’t know any other lake in the world where you could catch all those. Great guides for the lake too like Jurassic Park Fishing CHarters, he went above and beyond for me to get those tricky clown knives. Definitely is a lot harder fishing this lake from shore, with very limited success. Would recommend taking your own boat out or hiring the guide I spoke or any guide for that matter. He’s the best one though for Clown Knives on Lake Ida.
The park has nice parking spaces and if you want to fish in a specific spot with no parking around nobody cares if you park next to the lake. Sometimes there are people parked at less than 10' from the water. There you can find a lot of small largemouth, bluegills and redear sunfish, some peacock bass, jaguar cichlids and waters infested with Mayan cichlids that are gonna steal your live shiners, there are spotted tilapia among the vegetation or in their nests and snakeheads in the dark water.
