Huntington Harbour is ideal for kayak fishing. The vast majority of the harbor is residential, so you don’t have an excessive amount of boat traffic that you find in other larger harbors. Anaheim Bay located at the northern end of the harbor is divided into two areas, civilian and military, by the large bridge on PCH that links Sunset and Seal Beach. The area on the civilian side of the bridge is a very popular place to fish and an absolute favorite for local kayak fishermen!
Santa Monica Pier is home to multiple species of fish. It is easy to go and take a kid fishing and catch tons of Makerel on a peice of shrimp. You can also catch multiple species of bass and other multi species. There are some big fish there and sometimes can catch a shark. It is a very crowded peir.
