I’ve fished this lake quite a bit. It can either be on fire or nothing at all . It’s hard to find a pattern . The only reason I’m leaving this review is because I used to live down the street and I have since moved . It’s fenced off but here’s how you fish it : Park across the street at the first turnout . Cross the road when no cars are coming . Put your rod over the fence and then climb over at the main( first ) gate. Creep quit because the best fishing is on the dam and immediately off to the left . You can also go over the rocks on the other side of the dam , but it’s pretty thick with brush and makes casting hard . There is a trail of sorts you can follow along the far side of the lake . I think you could really crush it in a small boat but it’d be pretty hard to get that over the fence . Good luck ~
The lake of giants, the lake of many state records... Lake Casitas. Hands down, one of the best places to fish in California. Bank access is limited, need a boat for sure. Not a beginner lake. Note, there is bass everywhere, I have seen multiple 8-10 lb bass swimming around. Just gotta get them to bite.
