A great lake for beginners and people who use live worms. It is a very pressured lake though. There are Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Common Carp, Tilapia, Plecos, and occasionally other species. Lots of bait fish. If you are using worms you will most of the time get bites and you will catch small bass. If you use the right bait for catfish and carp you can catch some GAINT fish. Plecos will keep on getting on your line and the Lake is loaded with Plecos. If you fish there often and study the Lake and are targeting bass you occasionally can catch some BIG ones. The lake is not that deep. Micro fishing for bass is your best bet to catch a fish. You can check out my Channel because I have a lot of videos of how to catch fish at Lake Balboa.
It’s a great little place to bank fish with the kiddos, you can do water sports such as jets skiing and float tubing, paddle boats, etc. There’s good bass fishing, and lots of docks to fish off of too. Make sure you have your licenses on you at all time because the game warden does come to make sure you’re legit.
