it's a great place to park and fish. Sometimes it's a little overcrowded but you usually can catch pin fish if nothing else. Between March and May the Mackerel run pretty good and there's always grouper and snapper to be caught, as well as sharks and kingfish if you have the right setups. Look for guys wearing TBFC on their shirts or decals on their cars. They're part of the Tampa Bay Fishing Club that you can join on Facebook or Instagram and they can usually help you out and give you sound advice.

I love fishing the Skyway. Great bait shop and staff. Lots of different types of fish can be caught here on both live bait and artificial. Sharks, jacks, grouper, snapper, mackerel, and tarpon just to name a few. Suggest come with a plan and pay attention to the tides otherwise you might end up with a bunch of small grunts and catfish. Sheepshead can also be caught near the pilings as well. You can park on or walk on for 4-8 dollars. Daily entry applies to both sides of the bay. North and south side piers can be fished with same daily entry pass picked up on either side.
