Long Lake

Arrived just after 6am on a Sunday in August and was there first car to park at the boat launch. The ramp access is located off Meadowbrook Rd and there’s probably only enough space for a few cars (3-4 with no trailers, or 2-3 with trailers). So get there early if you plan on towing a boat trailer. The ramp is easily accessible though but you’re limited to low power motors. So no beefy speed boats or clowns on jet skis! There appears to be a couple of public access docks. One is right by the boat ramp and the other is on the other side of the beach area. Those, along with the beach area, will be your only shoreline fishing spots unless you are lucky enough to find the various trails around the pond. There are a few shoreline spots around the pond accessible by trail, one of which can be accessed near the Littleton Fire Department. I spent about 4 hours on my fishing kayak today and landed a pickerel and nearly hooked another one and a bass. I was mainly fishing the perimeter of the pond around the lily pads. There are a few docks and fallen trees that are great spots for bass to hide in. I had a great time on the yak today and will certainly work this pond into my rotation of lakes and ponds

Good

Long pond is a great body of water, a calm pond that in my opinion is big enough to be considered a lake. There are very little weeds and a diverse set of fish that inhabit the water making it an interesting fish as one does not know what they may pull in. However, the only thing keeping this from being a five star spot would be the lack of public parking as the majority of it is for town residents only. As well fishing from the shore or dock is a little underwhelming in some spots, however if one takes a boat, raft, kayak or anything else out they will be met with a fantastic spot.

it's a good lake to boat or shore fishing. lots of weeds though. but overall a great place to fish and swim.
