Lake Woodlands is the first lake I’ve had to study and learn to be able to consistently catch fish. There are some seriously monsterous Largies hanging out in the north end, and plenty of catfish hanging out everywhere. The concrete banks on the north end produce quite consistently with large plastics and squarebill cranks. There’s lots of broken rock and structure along the edges they like to sit in. Most of my strikes come from twitching the bait off the top of a rock and it gets hit on the fall.

This is a good sized pond. Big enough to give you plenty of spots to fish from. Lots of bank access and is accessible on all sides. Water is clear and dark, and it has some vegetation but not excessive. I would recommend this pond and will continue to fish it.
