Great area to fish IN THE FALL AND WINTER very over fished but overall solid spot
there’s lots of fish here year round and is one of my favorite spots. however, there’s a lot of snags and you have to watch the time of day you go depending on the species you’re targeting (based off of tides). it’s kind of a pain to get to and there’s bikers on the trails, but the catches make up for it.
it’s aight sumtimes it’s amazing and sometimes it’s terrible, i’d say best time to fish is in winter. u can either catch huge fish, dinks, or nothing, u never know. If it wasn’t so pressured it would b amazing
It has a warm water discharge so in the winter and late fall it’s a good spot. Summer fishing here from my experience is pretty bad. It is hard to navigate and a bit sketchy but I have pulled some 5-6 pound bass out of here
I go to four mile run for carp and it doesn’t disappoint, its great for fishing but not much else and it has a lot of snags. If you are experienced with the area then its amazing but beginners will probably get frustrated.
This is a fantastic spot if you know what you’re doing. Every fish in the NOVA area lives here, and at some point in the year can be caught. The toughest fish to catch here is largemouth bass, but even they become very active here prespawn. I’ve caught everything from 35 lb carp, to 18 inch stripers, to 25 lb catfish.
