As I was packing up getting ready to go I cast out one last time my jig with a Googan Bandito bug craw into the far corner. I felt a thump on my line I reeled in fighting with this bass until I land it near shore. It was the second species caught here after my brother. As I release the bass I saw fish lines in the water moving I quickly cast my jig in the same spot suddenly booom I had a quick jerk on my line I new the fish Gods had bless me, this was a biggen. I leaned to my left side and set the hook the fish gave me a ferocious fight left right then I felt the fish was going to jump and try to escape I quickly tilted my rod down and the fish went back down. As I brought it to shore I screamed of excitement ahhh ahhh! I had landed a Red breast tilapia the size of a Chipotle flour burrito tortilla. I quickly began trying to remove the hook but the tilapia moved from my hand piercing my hand a bit with it spine. My brother took pictures and then weight the monster which was 3.12lb my God this was an insane catch good luck anglers out there. -isaiolvera

Out of the 8 times I've fished here I've never gotten skunked even in 50 degree weather. The trail makes it so it's easy access to which ever area you want to fish in. There been a lot of construction recently and it's created ledges on parts of the bank which also help getting closer to the water. I never have to park considering I live in a neighborhood on the bayou but usually there's parking spots and open grass patches that people park on which never gets to busy since the bayou isn't the most popular spot to catch fish. When comes to fish you can catch dang near everything, my list out of my trips has been bluegill, rio grande cichlid, tilapia, bass, bullhead and channel catfish, and can't forget the turtles. I know there's carp and such bait fish but I've never caught them but rather seen some dead on the banks. I wouldn't recommend eating anything out of the bayou but rather just enjoy the catch. Lastly haven fun and just enjoy nature because fishing is a way to get away and the bayou is a perfect place to relax.
