The new You Tab on Fishbrain as well as other new updates and features to come.
The leaves are gone from the trees, the summer sunlight is gone and many of us have hung our rods and reels up, eagerly waiting for spring. Fishing season may be waning in much of the country, but fishing never ceases to be the main topic at Fishbrain. We constantly think about fishing, while improving your fishing experiences and memories on the app.
We’ve been hard at work, even as most bites began to cool off with the weather and below are some of the newest updates to the Fishbrain App.
You asked and we listened. Your fishing stats are important and now they are more easily accessible. The new You tab (found on the lower right of your screen) streamlines all of your fishing data into one easily navigable tab.
On your “You Tab”, you can easily scroll through your catches gallery in chronological order and all your most important info, like catch stats, gear and your map, found at the top of the page.
The “You Tab” also shows the number of different species you’ve caught and logged right at the top. Simply tap any one of these categories for a more in depth look at what you’ve caught, when you’ve caught it, your favorite baits and more.
The “You Tab” is available with the latest IOS update and is scheduled for Android users later this December.
We’ve introduced precise measuring on our Navionics Depth Charts. Now when you go into your map and turn on the “Depth Charts Layer '' you can zoom into any section of a charted water and get any depth your crosshairs are pointed on.
This is a great addition because you no longer need to read contours like a topographical map by counting lines, but instead you get the depth as a number on your screen, wherever you are pointing. You also don't need to zoom in as far to get proper depth readings as the new function works from farther out.
Open your map and tap “Depth Chart Layer” on the right of your screen.
Hover over a spot and get the exact depth of that spot.
USA Canada IOS only
“You Tab” version 2 is targeted for later this December and will bring even more features.
Pinning catches to the top of your profile. (control how you are represented as an angler)
Filters (sorting options for catches. Filter by month, by year, sort by size, or engagement)
With the next update to the “You Tab” you can pin your favorite catches to the top of your profile. This allows you to immediately highlight your greatest fishing accomplishments to other FIshbrain members, as well as establish what kind of fishing (if any) you prefer, or specialize in.
With the next update you can also filter and sort through your catches by month, year, size and engagement, allowing you to find that one particular catch, or fishing trip faster and easier.
