The Aesop slipper lobster is a marine crustacean recognized by its flattened body and broad, shovel-like claws. It inhabits rocky and sandy substrates in the Indo-Pacific region, typically at depths ranging from 30 to 100 feet. Reaching lengths of about 8-10 inches and weighing up to 2 pounds, it is largely nocturnal, foraging for food under the cover of darkness.
