Banded Sunfish. One of the rarer species of Sunfish. These guys can only live in specific types of environments so you don't normally see many of them. The Location is obscured to protect them. They're very pretty but don't get too big sadly

After catching the Blue-spotted Sunfish, I was just dropping some worms in between and caught a few more Enneacanthus sp. I had no idea how to identify the banded sunfish, so was just hoping one of the ones I catch would be a banded. After looking at all of them and checking with a bunch of people, I had about 80% of people i asked agree that its a banded, and I identified it by the 7 or so dull bands and the black spot on the opercular flap being larger than the eye. I definitely will need to go back sometime to cement this species into the lifelist, as this specimen isn’t the strongest
