Fishing for Smooth skate

Malacoraja senta, commonly known as the smooth skate, is a cartilaginous fish characterized by its flattened, disc-shaped body and smooth texture. It resides in the deep waters of the northwest Atlantic Ocean, typically at depths of 260 to 3,000 feet. Measuring around 20-24 inches in length and weighing up to 3 pounds, it feeds on small invertebrates and exhibits a benthic lifestyle.
