Fishing Water

Head out for another fish off Mordi beach tonight and withstood the extremely strong winds and was well rewarded.

No snapper today but was able to land a decent feed of pinkies ranging from 28-36cm all caught on squid as pillies weren’t staying on the hook well in the rough conditions.

 On a holiday in Europe and staying in Munich for Oktoberfest, snuck out to a local river and had some amazing fishing. I grew up fishing for pike in Ireland and I somehow managed my biggest one ever on this trip, stoked beyond words! All fish released

Couldn’t help myself and went out again after work for a few hours, bites were slow till sunset and then it was like piano keys trying to run between both rods.
Salmon were on but didn’t last long 30-40min window.
Pinkies were on all evening but bar the few undersized was only able to nab the one keeper at 29cm.

Left the fish biting unfortunately 

All fish caught on a mix of squid and servo pillies.

Decided to give Mordi beach another crack tonight, fished just on sunset and landed 2 salmon and one pinkie just after sunset and low tide and thought I was in for a great session, unfortunately only landed a banjo and snapped my line to what I presume was a huge stingray after that.

Salmon were caught on bluebait and the pinkie was caught on a fresh salmon strip.

Head out to port Phillip in search of a landbased snapper, started off at the rocks off the beach near black rock jetty but after a couple hours of no bites got the feeling that it just wasn’t going to be good so decided to pack up and head home, on the way back I figured I may as well pull up at Mordialloc beach and try off the beach.

Right after sunset the rod buckled and I landed my first snapper of the season, by no means a monster at 45cm but I’ll take it after the last couple doughnut sessions I’ve had.
