Fishing for Pit sculpin

The Pit sculpin is a small, bottom-dwelling fish recognized by its broad, flattened head and mottled coloration. It is native to the Pit River system in northeastern California, inhabiting cool, clear streams with rocky substrates. The species typically measures 3-4 inches in length and weighs just a few ounces. It is benthic, feeding on invertebrates, and generally exhibits solitary behavior.
