This was an absolutely incredible and dream catch that I never thought would happen, and especially from a lake. While I was at the end of the pier at Lake Ohrid, I saw some fish below it hiding in the rocks that looked like a Phoxinus species. Any Phoxinus species that I would have caught at lake Ohrid would have been a new species, so I spent a lot of time trying to catch them. After about 30 minutes, I finally managed to get one to bite. Once I pulled it out of the water, I saw the barbels and was in total shock. The Western Balkan Barbel was the species from the lake that I wanted to catch the most, but never thought it would happen and especially not in the 2 nights I was at the lake. This fish 100% made the entire trip, and will be extremely hard to beat.
