First time I caught this fish was in Oct. 2023! I did not have anything to bring it back to the house in. I never was able to find it before winter 2023 came and I assumed it had to have died when the water temps dropped. Well this past Oct. by chance I caught it again, also with nothing on me to bring it back. Went back a few weeks later after traveling, caught him again, this time I had a zip lock bag I intended to bring him back in, but he flopped right out of the bag back into the water and got away! Yesterday I went with my son, a super bright LED spot, multiple nets and a bucket and we got him! He is now acclimating to his new climate controlled 55 gallon home! Apparently he also still has a friend, my son says he saw a smaller Dempsey who we lost when all the mud got stirred up. We are going back tonight after the water clears again to rescue his buddy! #TBT
