The Snell Knot is a classic fishing knot. This knot can be used with eyeless hooks or if the eye’s thickness is bigger than the line. The Snell Knot can be tied directly to the hook and keeps the line strong without breaking the connection between the hook and the reel.
Step by step
Thread the line through the eye of the hook.
Then thread the line again through the hook in the exact same direction.
Hold the hook and the line in a grip.
Wrap the larger loop around the shank of the hook about seven times.
Shorten the loop by pulling on the end of the line.
Firmly pull on both ends of the line to tighten the knot. Trim any excess line.
