How to tie an Arbor Knot

The Arbor Knot is a classic fisherman's knot and is one of the easiest fishing knots to tie. Because the Arbor Knot is attached to the spool, it creates a "noose effect," where pulling the line tightens the knot, creating a sturdy and effective fishing knot.

Step by step

Loop your line around the spool with the tag end of the line.
Tie an overhand knot around the standing part with the tag end.
Then tie a second overhand knot in the tag end just an inch or two from the first overhand knot.
Pull firmly the standing part of the line to slide the first overhand knot down to the spool and the second knot to jam against the first. Trim tag end close.
