How to tie an Albright Knot

The Albright Knot was created for tarpon fishing in the 1950s and is used to tie two different diameters of line together.

Step by step

Start by forming a loop in the wire or heavy mono then pass the tag end of the main line through the loop.
Lay the tag end behind the wire or mono loop and make tight wraps down toward the bend of the loop.
Pass the tag end through the loop in the same direction that it first came out of the loop.
Pull equally on all four legs of the loop and the main fishing line. Use your fingers to help push the wraps toward the end of the loop.
Trim the tag ends.
